About Tire Standings
A ranking site with a published formula, built because the usual "best of" lists never show their work.
What this is
Tire Standings ranks tires by warranty miles per dollar, UTQG treadwear and traction grades, severe-snow rating, speed rating and independent test results. The formula is public, every input is on the model page, and every independent measurement links to the test it came from. If you disagree with a ranking, you can see exactly which number you disagree with.
Who runs it
Tire Standings is written and maintained by an independent publisher in the San Francisco Bay Area, with no ties to any manufacturer or retailer. It is one of 3 sister sites that share the same engine and the same rules: Power Station Ranking and Air Purifier Ranking use the identical approach for their own products.
How it is funded
Affiliate commissions. When you buy through a link here, the retailer pays us a small percentage at no cost to you. Every ranked tire carries the same kind of link, so there is no incentive to favor one over another, and we accept no payment, sponsorship, free products or early access in exchange for placement. The privacy policy explains what the affiliate relationship does and doesn't let us see.
How it stays current
New models are added as they ship, prices are reviewed on a schedule, and independent measurements are logged as reviewers and labs publish them. The updates page lists recent additions, and formula changes are noted there too.
Report an error or suggest a model
Email [email protected]. For a spec correction, include a link to the source; for a model we're missing, the manufacturer's product page is enough. Independent testers who publish measurements and would like to be tracked are especially welcome; see who we follow today.
